Paul Scheer is an actor, comedian, writer, producer, director, and podcaster.
In the past few years, Scheerappeared in memorable roles in Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, Daddy’s Home, and the Nicholas Cage satire Army of One. He also co-created and produced Party Over Here, a late night sketch show for Fox. He recently wrote, directed, in starred in Drive Share for Go90. His independent television pilot Playdates was one of three pilots screened at Sundance, and he just wrapped a season-long arc on Veep. Additionally, he appears in the hit ABC comedy Fresh off the Boat and co-hosts one of iTunes’s most popular podcasts, “How Did This Get Made?.”
Scheer will appear in the upcoming A24 film Slice alongside Chance the Rapper, in the new James Franco, Seth Rogen comedy The Masterpiece, the Topher Grace musical comedy Opening Night and he’ll play Paul Schaffer in the upcoming National Lampoon bio pic, Stupid Futile Gesture. Also, he will also be returning to Netflix’s series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. He recently completed an arc on the Patrick Stewart show Blunt Talk and will appear on the upcoming season of Lady Dynamite as well as the final season of Workaholics.
Most recognizable as Andre from the FX hit The League, Scheer began his career on MTV’s cult sketch series Human Giant alongside Aziz Ansari and Rob Huebel. Scheer also created, co-wrote, and executive produced the Adult Swim series NTSF: SD:SUV::. He had a recurring role as Donny, the head page, on NBC’s 30 Rock. His extensive guest-starring appearances include Modern Family, Parks and Recreation, Drunk History, Burning Love, Adventure Time, Happy Endings, Party Down, Children’s Hospital, Yo Gabba Gabba!, Grace and Frankie, Bajillion Dollar Properties, and Once Upon A Time. Scheer’s film credits include Hell Baby, Piranha 3D, Bride Wars, Year One, and School for Scoundrels.
Scheer executive produced and co-starred in The Hotwives franchise for Hulu as well as created the Fullscreen series Filthy Preppy Teen$ and Crash Test, a comedy special which took place on a moving bus. In his web series ArScheerio Paul Show, Scheer re-created interviews from Arsenio Hall’s original show, and was awarded an Honoree Webby for Best Individual Performance and was voted USA Today’s Top Viral Hit of the year.
After the launch of his independent comic book, Aliens vs. Parker, Scheer and his partner Nick Giovannetti have teamed up to work with Marvel on Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy and Spiderman comic books. Scheer was named one of LA Weekly’s “most interesting people,” Variety’s “Comics to Watch,” and AP Magazine’s “Favorite Comedians” list.
